A desert escape to Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North

Four Seasons Troon at Scottsdale literally feels like an oasis in the desert. When you enter the grounds and make the drive to reception, you’ll quickly understand why this property is a favorite of visitors and locals alike. There are lots of five star hotels in the Phoenix and Scottsdale area, but what makes Four Seasons unique is that you can choose between casitas or suites (all with spectacular views), there are 4 restaurants, and 3 pools to create a resort quality atmosphere, so you can leave the car parked for your entire stay. 

How to get there:

Fly in to Phoenix (PHX) airport, take the shuttle bus (SkyTrain connection is coming soon) to the rental car facility. After renting your car it’s a 45 minute drive to the resort. The hotel has both self-parking and valet parking. Upon arrival, you’ll be escorted to your casita via golf cart and your bag will follow separately. 

Who it’s a good fit for:

I went for a much needed girlfriends’ getaway, but this this property also works for couples, families, and solo travelers. For couples, I recommend the casitas with private plunge pools, and for families there’s a 1 foot deep splash pool for the kiddos. If you’re traveling solo, make sure you inquire about the various classes that are offered on property and reserve a cabana at the adults only pool so that you can settle in to the pool scene for the day. 

Don’t miss:

The sunset from Talavera is absolutely spectacular, and the frozen prickly pear margaritas will keep you cool on a hot day. Spa treatments should be booked in advance, and if you’re like me you’ll want to take the spa slippers home (I didn’t, but I ordered a pair within an hour of leaving the spa!).
