3 THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT WORKING WITH TRAVEL ADVISORS IN 2025

If you haven’t heard, travel advisors are cool again! 😉 We’ve gotten shoutouts on shows like And Just Like That and White Lotus, and even @briankelly is sharing the benefits of booking luxury hotels with advisors.

Read on for 3 tips on working with advisors ⬇️

1️⃣ There are a lot of travel advisors out there
Vet them like you would vet anyone else you’re going to give thousands of dollars to. Would you hire an architect without asking to see past projects? A CPA who’s unavailable during tax season? If the answer is a resounding no, then you’re already on the right track of taking your service providers seriously. I’ve never met 98% of my clients, and yet they trust me with hundreds of thousands of dollars each year, because they know that my agency is powered by two of the best in the business @thesmartflyer + @virtuosoltd. Take the time to do the research on advisors, ask who they’re affiliated with, if they have industry certifications, read their client reviews, and see if what their posting on social aligns with where your interests are.

2️⃣ No one is a specialist in the entire world
Don’t get mad at your advisor when you come to them for France and then the next trip is Japan, and they refer you to someone else. I promise it’s not because they don’t won’t to work with you, it’s because they want you to have the best experience possible. Take that as a sign that your advisor has your best interest in mind, and don’t forget about them when it’s time for the next trip.

3️⃣ We make your trip seem like the most important in the world, but there are actually other people traveling
When we tell you it’s the last room, or the quote is valid for x amount of time, or to pay an invoice to confirm, it’s because you’ve shared what a perfect trip looks like & we want that to be a reality. But this is a collaborative process, and your main role is sharing your vision, providing feedback, and authorizing charges. The last part may not be glamorous, but it’s imperative, and we can’t do our best job unless you do your part.
