Tips for remembering every single thing that you do on vacation
Here’s how to remember everything from that great meal to the amazing museum
How many times have you come back from vacation and want to tell your friends about all the great restaurants you tried only to blank on the names?
We pack a lot of fun into our vacations and when we want to return or share our favorite spots it shouldn’t be a hassle. I’m sharing five tips that will help make your next vacation recap a synch.
Create favorites in Maps and add them to a collection- To do this find the establishment in maps, click on its pin and swipe up to see “add to” then select new collection. As I’m researching places I’ll start adding them to my map. That way once I’m in my destination I can pull up the map and see what’s around me.
Take pictures of all of the menus at places you dine and save the photos of the ones that you like- A lot of times I’ll have a photo of a meal but will have no idea what I actually ordered. This tip is also useful as many restaurants either don’t publish their menus online or change their offerings frequently.
Drop a pin or take pictures of street signs if you see an interesting area or establishment but don’t have time to go in- See something that looks fun but don’t have time to stop? Drop a pin in Maps or take a picture of the sign. This will give you all the clues you need to find the spot when you do have time to go back and explore.
Take lots of photos and get a photo book printed- Printed photos may seem passé but they’re are a great visual reminder of where you’ve been and what you’ve done. Sites like Shutterfly and Mixbook make it easy and affordable to share your photo memories in a nice coffee table book. I get one printed for all of our Christmas vacations and each year we look at it before we depart for our new holiday adventure.
Save paper documents as souvenirs- I like to bring maps, postcards and brochures back with me because they often contain information that I forgot to write down or record. If you don’t want to carry the paper documents back with you take photos of them and recycle the originals.
Follow these tips and you’ll never be at a loss for words when someone asks you what you did on vacation!
