Reims is a 50 minute high speed train from Paris’ Gare de l’Est station or from Charles de Gaulle Airport. Reims has a lively city center with shops and restaurants, a historic cathedral, and Champagne tastings. Reims is easily walkable and has several options for public transportation. Make a reservation to visit Veuve Clicquot and learn about the heritage of the brand and the history of champagne. Need a snack break? Nosh on some Brie de Meaux cheese made on Champagne’s border and dunk your Biscuits roses de Reims in a glass of grand cru. Burn off all those calories as you climb the 250 steps of the Reims Cathedral to the top of the cathedral tower. After taking in the sites from the rooftop stroll through the Place du Forum to the Museum of Surrender where the Allies receive the unconditional surrender of the German forces on May 7, 1945.
